From San Francisco and in his eighties, Peter Saul has been an outsider artist - ever since he chose Paris over New York during his golden fresh grad years. A handful of his paintings feature hallucinatory cartoons in a bizarre narrative, most of which are sarcastic and ironic. The grotesque characters featured in his work would much likely gain a cult following if commercialised. However, despite being one of the early originators of pop, none of Saul’s work was inspired to be mass produced.

‘Rollercoaster style…’ caught our attention - the shameless dialogue and caustic interaction between the characters blatantly cracks us up. Oh and did we mention the seriously hyped up palette that no one can possibly get over?
